Description
The biennial Foundation Award of the Bremerhaven Economic Foundation honors outstanding initiatives, projects, and individuals in the fields of education, upbringing, art, culture, and sports at the Bremerhaven location. With an endowment of up to €5,000, sustainable undertakings are recognized that demonstrably contribute to strengthening the regional location quality. The applicant community includes companies, associations, interest groups, non-profit organizations, and private individuals whose impact is proven locally. Submissions are accepted at any time – the next award period will begin in preparation for the 2027 Foundation Award.
The award is based on four central evaluation criteria: First, the measure must clearly have an impact in Bremerhaven. Second, an objectively verifiable, sustainable success must be demonstrated. Third, the achievement should serve as an exemplary model for others and enjoy broad recognition, including beyond specialist circles. Fourth, the person or initiative to be honored must credibly and exemplary represent the project. For the application, a brief presentation of 1–2 DIN A4 pages is sufficient, including information about the institution or initiative, the project, contact person, and description of the achievement. The award not only strengthens one’s own commitment but also sets impulses for the entire urban community.
