Scholarships of the Helga and Ulrich Zierold Foundation

The Helga and Ulrich Zierold Foundation annually awards scholarships nationwide to particularly talented, performance-oriented, and committed pupils, trainees, and students with a focus on mathematical-scientific and technical subjects. The emphasis is on talents from socially disadvantaged families to promote equal opportunities and sustainably strengthen the next generation of scientists. The one-year funding recognizes academic potential as well as social commitment and opens up individual financial scope for education, studies, and further projects.

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and are aimed at individuals with demonstrable performance orientation, subject focus, and corresponding proof of social disadvantage. The application must include a letter of motivation, current certificates, a tabular curriculum vitae, and participation in a personal interview. Selection is made by a volunteer advisory board based on criteria such as commitment, subject focus, and individual circumstances. The amount of the grant is determined according to need; an extension requires an annual report and positive interim results. Continuous support and active participation in scholarship holder meetings promote nationwide exchange and networking among the beneficiaries.
