Description
The Renovabis Foundation specifically supports priests, priesthood candidates, members of religious orders, and laypeople from Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe as well as the Caucasus and Central Asia with its study and training grants. The program supports studies abroad, professional advanced and continuing education, as well as selected language courses to enhance qualifications for church services in the home dioceses or orders. Funding primarily covers tuition fees and reasonable living expenses; travel costs are excluded. A prerequisite for funding is a recommendation from the responsible church authorities—such as the bishop of the home diocese or the provincial superior—as well as the submission of the application through a church institution acting as the sponsor.
Selection is based on academic suitability, a clear connection to church service in the home country, and convincing letters of recommendation. The following documents are required for the application: a fully completed application form, a short curriculum vitae, a letter of recommendation from the bishop or provincial superior, certificates of previous studies, language certificates, an institutional safeguarding concept, a letter of good standing, as well as a motivation letter or project outline. Applications must be submitted by post in German or English no later than March 31 of each year to Renovabis. This scholarship opportunity offers committed professionals from the Eastern European region a valuable chance to sustainably strengthen their church work through qualified education and training and to deepen their knowledge experiences within the European context.
