Description

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation e.V. supports academically outstanding and socially committed refugees in Germany who are pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or doctoral degree. With monthly grants of up to €752 for students and up to €1,350 for doctoral candidates, living expenses as well as study- or research-related costs are covered. In addition to financial support, the program offers non-material support through interdisciplinary workshops, individual mentoring by advisors, and access to a vibrant network of scholarship holders and alumni. Participants benefit from professional insights provided by experts from politics, business, and culture and can contribute their personal perspectives in local university groups as well as establish new contacts.

Funding is granted to individuals holding a residence permit under § 24 AufenthG or § 61 BAföG (study support) or § 16/18 AufenthG (international programs), who demonstrate above-average grades, social engagement, and identification with the Foundation’s values. Required documents include a CV, admission certificate, references, academic transcripts, proof of academic degrees, and German language proficiency (at least B2 for study support, C1 for doctoral support). Selection takes place twice a year with application deadlines on January 15 and July 15. Evaluation criteria include academic achievements, social engagement, initiative, and openness to diverse topics.
