Scholarships for the Master's Program "Criminology & Crime Prevention"

Two full scholarships for the part-time Master's program "Criminology & Crime Prevention" at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR) cover the full tuition fees of €8,900 for four semesters. Funding is provided to private individuals from Rhineland-Palatinate who are professionally, additionally, or voluntarily active in the field of crime prevention – for example, in prevention committees, police, probation services, municipal administrations, social work, child and youth welfare, business, crime policy, authorities, associations, or organizations. Prerequisites for application include a completed university degree, at least one year of professional experience after the first degree, and successful admission to the Master's program. Selection criteria include motivation for the Master's program, support from the current employer, and previous qualifications in the field of prevention. Application documents include a motivation letter, a curriculum vitae, and proof of successful admission to HWR Berlin. The application deadline is July 15, 2026, with the program starting from October 2026.

The funding aims to strengthen future specialists and leaders in Rhineland-Palatinate as well as to combine scientific qualification with practical competence in the field of crime prevention. The Master's program, offered in a blended-learning format, places special emphasis on interdisciplinary, practice-oriented training and prepares participants for leadership roles in various fields of action. The Rhineland-Palatinate Crime Prevention Foundation acts as the funding body, covering the full tuition fees (funding rate 100%) and investing in the sustainable development of the statewide prevention network. The program runs over a project duration of 24 months and offers scholarship holders the opportunity to generate new impulses for crime prevention in Rhineland-Palatinate through scientific work and practice-oriented projects.
