Description

The Lauterbach Foundation supports highly gifted and socially disadvantaged language course participants at the Hartnack School Berlin with fully funded scholarships over a period of 1–3 months. Funding covers course fees, examination fees, and necessary learning materials to enable the acquisition and deepening of German language skills. With a funding rate of 100%, the program is aimed at individuals in the Berlin area who demonstrably achieve above-average performance while simultaneously experiencing financial hardship. The goal is to accompany talented learners in expanding their language abilities and actively participating in school offerings. Additionally, engagement with the Berlin State Volunteer Agency as well as in the homework assistance program at the Hartnack School is expected to promote social responsibility and mutual support.

Requirements for a successful application include, among others, a recommendation from the language instructor, proof of financial need, and a valid school certificate (Hartnack School or DTZ certificate with a grade of “good” or “very good”). Furthermore, a curriculum vitae, an assessment from the course instructor, and detailed information about the desired course period are required. The selection process evaluates not only professional aptitude but also regular attendance, social competence within the course, and personal suitability. Fully completed documents must be submitted at least one month before the course begins. Through this program, talented learners receive not only financial support but also the opportunity to actively engage in the school community and further develop their German language skills at a high level.
