Description
Each autumn, the Brücke/Most Foundation awards four monthly scholarships of €400 each for a period of ten months to Czech and Slovak students at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music Dresden. The aim of this funding is to intensify German-Czech understanding and to specifically support the musical education of talented young musicians from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The selection is made by a commission consisting of representatives from the University of Music and the Brücke/Most Foundation, who evaluate not only artistic excellence but also commitment to cultural exchange. As part of the funding program, the scholarship holders regularly participate in the foundation’s traditional house concerts and have the opportunity to present their art at the "Czech-German Cultural Days" festival.
Eligible for funding are exclusively students with Czech or Slovak citizenship who are enrolled in the music department at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music Dresden. Applications must be submitted once a year in autumn; the division of individual scholarships also allows for the support of several emerging artists. The program is fully financed by the non-profit Brücke/Most Foundation, which has initiated and implemented numerous projects to promote German-Czech dialogue since its founding in 2001. Interested students can obtain further information on application documents and deadlines directly through the official channels of the University of Music Dresden and the foundation.
