Description
The K52 Art Foundation awards a scholarship every two years to visual artists residing in Germany who are aged 45 and older. Selected individuals receive a total sum of €6,000 as well as the opportunity to present their works in the Foundation’s exhibition spaces in Berlin. The aim of this funding measure is to honor artistically high-quality positions beyond the age of forty and to create visibility within the Berlin art scene that exists outside regular market mechanisms. The jury consists of members of the Foundation and external experts who evaluate the application materials based on the artistic quality of the submitted work.
Eligible to apply are individuals who have completed artistic training or can demonstrate long-standing artistic practice, are at least 45 years old, and reside in Germany. Application materials include a CV (max. 2 pages), an artist’s statement (max. 5 pages), and work samples (max. 20 printed DIN A4 pages); optionally, a CD or USB stick may be submitted. Transport costs within Berlin and Potsdam as well as accommodation and travel expenses up to €200 are covered; production and framing costs are excluded. The application period is published on the website at least six weeks before the deadline, ensuring that interested artists have sufficient preparation time to clearly present their artistic development.
