Description

The Beilstein Institute for the Advancement of Chemical Sciences supports a ten-day extracurricular educational program in Hesse, taking place from June 28 to July 7, 2026, at Fürsteneck Castle. Approximately sixty students from grades 7 to 9 in Hessian schools deepen their interests in STEM subjects and beyond in this out-of-school learning environment. In addition to main courses in Chemistry (chemical metamorphoses), Physics (autonomous vehicles), Mathematics (symmetry), Politics (war and peace), as well as Art and Culture (Live Statements – Performance), participants engage in a variety of elective offerings. These range from Taijiquan and empathetic listening to creative writing, choir, and dance workshops. Sporting activities and leisure programs complement the curriculum and promote team spirit and personal development.

The aim of the funding is to awaken scientific curiosity and creative skills at an early stage, as well as to strengthen the independence of young people. Participants present their project results on a joint action day, which provides parents and interested parties with insights into the academy’s daily life. Eligible for funding are private school students in Hesse from grades 7 to 9 who have successfully passed the selection process of the Hessian Student Academy. This initiative not only promotes young talent in the natural sciences but also creates an interdisciplinary network that inspires and connects young people in the long term.
