Description

The study grant from the Dr. Wolff Foundation supports needy and exceptionally talented students as well as young researchers at Philipps University of Marburg with monthly subsidies of €300 (in exceptional cases up to €750). The funding program is aimed at enrolled individuals from Hesse who can demonstrably prove financial support below the maximum BAföG rate. Protestant affiliates are given preference; other church members and socially engaged individuals also have access. Funding can be granted upon application for twelve months and supplemented with project-related funds for stays abroad or research projects. Application deadlines are February 15 and September 15 of each year.

Evaluation criteria include academic performance, financial need, sustainability of the study project, as well as social and religious commitment. Applicants submit the following documents under the keyword “Study Grant from the Dr. Wolff Foundation”: a reference letter from a professor (1–2 DIN A4 pages), the completed application form, a tabular CV, a detailed description of the social and financial situation, a statement on religious or social engagement, photocopies of previous examination results and diplomas, if applicable a project report on the dissertation, and the enrollment certificate. The decision is made by a special board chaired by a university professor. Follow-up applications are possible, aiming for continuous study support.
