Description
The CARINA Foundation supports the OWL Study Fund with 25 scholarships annually, which, combined with the Deutschlandstipendium, enable a total volume of 55 scholarships per year. Funding is provided to bachelor’s, master’s, and diploma students of all disciplines at the five public universities in East Westphalia-Lippe – Bielefeld University, Paderborn University, Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences, and the Detmold University of Music. The aim of the funding program is to strengthen academic excellence and equal opportunities in North Rhine-Westphalia, particularly through targeted support of young talents with above-average academic achievements and extracurricular commitment.
The twelve-month funding program primarily targets students whose residence at the time of their secondary school leaving examination was in the district of Herford. Selection is based on the criteria of above-average school performance, social engagement, and regional ties. An annual scholarship recipients’ meeting organized by the CARINA Foundation provides space for networking, academic exchange, and personal development in a relaxed atmosphere. The continuously open application phase allows interested parties to submit their documents annually and become part of this regionally anchored program, which sustainably promotes educational opportunities and builds a strong network of committed academics in East Westphalia-Lippe.
