Description
The Raiffeisen Foundation nationwide supports thematically focused summer schools as grants for early-career researchers. Educational institutions can design events that train master's students and doctoral candidates from German universities of applied sciences and universities in professional expertise related to cooperative topics and their upstream and downstream areas. Both material resources and travel expenses are funded, with value-added tax being non-eligible. The goal is to create sustainable added value for the cooperative sector through practice-oriented curricula and expert lectures and to integrate the Sustainable Development Goals content-wise.
Applications are to be submitted informally in German and through the management of the faculty, department, or institute, or via lecturers. In addition to information about the applicant, a detailed project description including event content, learning objectives, curriculum, and lecturer profiles, a detailed financial plan, as well as evidence of additional funders in case of partial funding and related thematic applications are required. An initial formal review takes place; upon positive preliminary assessment, a peer review statement is obtained. The final decision is made by the board of trustees upon the recommendation of the executive board. Funding applications can be submitted at any time in writing or electronically. The program aims to strengthen research, education, and training in the cooperative sector in the long term and is directed at eligible educational institutions interested in innovative summer school concepts.
