Description

The funding measure "Day Structure for People with Disabilities" of the Fonds Soziales Wien (FSW) is aimed at Viennese residents aged 14 to under 65 with a disability according to § 3 CGW, who, due to their need for support, are currently or permanently unable to be employed in the general labor market. The service encompasses a diverse range of day-structuring offerings – from basic support for people with severe multiple disabilities to creative group and craft work opportunities, as well as qualification programs for gradual integration into working life. Additionally, off-site day structure as well as retraining and further training measures can be utilized. The funding amount is calculated as a subsidy for the actual costs incurred by the recognized institution. A personal contribution of 30% of the respective care allowance is generally required, whereby social hardship cases allow for exceptions. Applications can be submitted continuously to the FSW Customer Service for Disability Assistance.

Recognition of institutions is based on the General and Specific Funding Guidelines for Day Structure. Applicants must submit, among other documents, an application for funding, an official photo ID, birth certificate, proof of disability, as well as any care allowance notices and powers of attorney. Operational and quality reports must be submitted regularly; on-site inspections ensure proper use of funds and service quality. Funding can be granted for a limited or unlimited period, and in special cases revoked or discontinued. The measure contributes to maintaining existing abilities, strengthening social participation, and opening up prospects for possible labor market integration.
