Description
As part of a voluntary service by the City of Graz (Region Styria), the city supports mobility-impaired individuals with their primary residence in Graz through an income-dependent subsidy for taxi costs. This funding in the areas of social affairs, health, as well as work & social services provides vouchers worth up to €12 per ride and enables an annual total subsidy of up to €864. The payment is made 100% in the form of taxi vouchers, of which up to 36 can be used per half-year. Trips whose costs exceed the voucher value must be borne by the passenger; unused vouchers expire at the end of the respective period. Applications can be submitted continuously without a deadline.
Eligible are adult private individuals with permanent residence in Graz whose household net income is below the threshold for the ORF household fee and who do not possess a SocialCard Mobility or register their own car. A medical certificate or a disability ID card with the note “use of public transport unreasonable” serves as proof of mobility impairment. For the application, a completed application form, passport photo, official photo ID, as well as proof of exemption from the ORF household fee, SocialCard, or current income statements of all persons living in the household must be submitted. The application form is available as an online form; alternatively, a printable version can be obtained from the Social Welfare Office (MA 5) and submitted in person or by mail. This subsidy ensures long-term participation in public life and guarantees mobility despite health limitations.
