Description
Companies in Vienna have the opportunity to apply for grants to operate semi-stationary day centers for seniors. This program supports multiprofessional services that combine needs-based care, therapeutic individual and group offerings, as well as daily meals. A structured daily routine, accompanied by social workers, occupational and physical therapists, home and care assistants, as well as creative animators, helps counteract isolation and promotes the independence of older adults. The offerings range from craft and music groups to discussion rounds, excursions, and celebrations, thereby strengthening personal skills and fostering social participation. Special services are available to Viennese residents with dementia, after stroke, or with multiple sclerosis, sometimes also on weekends and public holidays.
Funding is provided for care and support services, travel expenses, as well as therapy and group offerings. Eligible for funding under these guidelines are recognized institutions with participants’ main residence in Vienna, Austrian citizenship or equivalent residence permit, and individual care needs. Applications can be submitted in writing at any time to the customer service of the Fonds Soziales Wien; valid applications may be submitted without limitation. To apply, the completed FSW application for service funding as well as the General and Specific Funding Guidelines must be submitted. The continuous funding opportunity ensures reliable financing, relieves relatives, and enables seniors to actively and safely shape their daily lives.
