Description

The Tyrolean Animal Health Service supports agricultural enterprises based in Tyrol with an annual subsidy for farm surveys. A prerequisite is active membership in the Tyrolean Animal Health Service as well as participation in the corresponding animal health programs. Depending on the herd size and animal species, one to four farm surveys per year are conducted by qualified attending veterinarians. The focus is particularly on the documentation and optimization of drug use, the assessment of housing conditions, as well as hygiene standards and barn climate. By systematically recording findings, weaknesses can be identified early, the health status of the herds sustainably improved, and the use of veterinary medicinal products reduced. At the same time, the funding ensures compliance with the Veterinary Medicinal Products Control Act and creates transparent, comparable evidence for authorities and stakeholders.

The funding opportunity is unlimited and has been continuously offered since April 16, 2019. Applicant farmers must have agreed to the full animal owner debit authorization and formally concluded the participation agreement and the care relationship with the attending veterinarian. The following documents are required for the application: participation agreement of the animal owner, consent declaration for health monitoring, farm survey cover sheet, and the ETGM 2024 notification form. Submission can be made at any time, as there is no deadline restriction. The processing is carried out centrally through the office of the Tyrolean Animal Health Service, and the cost coverage for the attending veterinarians is paid out directly. This ensures continuous care and monitoring, supports farmers in the sustainable optimization of their animal health, and secures the long-term quality of livestock farming in Tyrol.
