Description
The Animal Welfare Founder Prize 2025 of the Animal Welfare Foundation Bochum honors outstanding, non-commercial projects for the protection of wild and domestic animals as well as environmental education in the cities of Bochum and Hattingen. Applications may be submitted by individuals, groups, school classes, neighborhoods, teams, and associations with a seat or residence in the North Rhine-Westphalia region. The focus is on creative concepts that achieve long-term effects through voluntary commitment in the areas of animal welfare, environmental and nature conservation, education for sustainable development, energy efficiency, climate protection, and social cohesion. Children and adolescents may only participate accompanied by a legal guardian to promote sustainable learning processes and strengthen responsibility.
The total prize money amounts to €3,000, divided into €1,000 for 1st prize, €750 for 2nd prize, €500 for 3rd prize, and several recognition awards of €150 each. The evaluation criteria include the sustainability of the measure, voluntary engagement, and practical feasibility including creative originality.
