Description
Since November 2012, the Federal Ministry for Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection (Section III – Group B) has been supporting associations and other non-profit organizations based and operating in Vienna that implement projects in the field of animal welfare. Non-repayable grants are provided to support measures that improve the life and well-being of animals as well as raise public awareness for species-appropriate animal husbandry. The focus of the funding initiative is on ideas that, through gender-sensitive and inclusive forms of participation, encourage all interested parties – from experienced animal welfare experts to committed volunteers – to take active responsibility for animal and climate protection. The combination of animal welfare-related and energy-efficient measures contributes to realizing sustainable concepts based on ecological and social criteria.
Eligible to apply are non-profit associations as well as interest groups registered in Austria that carry out their projects in Vienna. The funding initiative offers a continuous submission deadline without time limitation: applications can be submitted at any time and processed via an online form. A prerequisite for approval is operational implementation within the Vienna city area. The budget volume is not capped and depends on the respective financing needs of the projects. A positive funding decision enables applicants to promptly begin implementing protection, awareness-raising, and educational projects. Compliance with the General Framework Guidelines for Federal Funding (ARR 2014) ensures transparent allocation and appropriate use of funds. With this continuous funding option, the Ministry of Social Affairs makes a fundamental contribution to the sustainable improvement of animal living conditions in Vienna.
