Tyrol 2050 Energy Autonomous

The Tyrol 2050 energy autonomous program supports builders and municipalities in Tyrol through grants for consultations and measures to increase energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption in existing buildings. As part of the overarching renovation initiative of the state of Tyrol, the program aims to raise the annual renovation rate from two to three percent and to halve the energy demand of buildings in the long term. Both private individuals and public institutions are eligible for funding; informal applications can be submitted at any time, ensuring flexibility and straightforward application handling.

A focus is placed on comprehensive professional support provided by Energie Tirol, which offers expertise through specialized consultations, seminars, and personal discussions. The program is complemented by information campaigns, brochures, and public relations efforts to implement technical quality standards—for example, in photovoltaic, solar thermal, and controlled residential ventilation systems—in line with the Tyrolean Energy Strategy 2020 (10-point action plan). A prerequisite for funding is compliance with the energy policy goals of the state of Tyrol. Thus, the funding not only contributes to halving final energy consumption but also actively supports climate protection and the region’s long-term energy autonomy.
