Description

From 01.01.2025 to 31.12.2029, the State of Tyrol will fund the new construction, renovation, and operation of indoor swimming pools, combined indoor and outdoor pools, as well as outdoor pools in all Tyrolean regions. Incorporating the results of the Tyrolean Swimming Pool Study 2024, this funding initiative aims to ensure the basic provision of adequate swimming facilities for the population and to specifically reduce municipal undersupply. Municipalities, municipal associations, tourism associations, as well as clubs and legal entities (at least 50 percent publicly owned) are eligible to apply. Investment grants cover 20 to 55 percent of eligible expenses depending on the project type. In addition to one-time grants for construction and renovation measures, operators can also apply electronically for annual operating subsidies between January 1 and August 31.

For funding, a precise project description, detailed cost breakdowns with comparative offers, and a binding financing plan must be submitted before the project begins. Furthermore, evidence of co-financing by surrounding municipalities and system partners, all planning documents, a comprehensive cost-effectiveness calculation, and an ÖISS report on competition pools, changing rooms, sanitary facilities, and accessibility are required. Additionally, information on the swimming sports program for schools and kindergartens (including registration with the Tyrolean School Sports Service), data on sports swimming or basic swimming area, as well as proof of use of the operating subsidies, are necessary. This structured application procedure ensures transparent allocation of funds and supports the sustainable safeguarding of regional swimming infrastructure.
