Description

The Tyrolean Road Safety Fund (Personalized License Plate Fund) continuously supports measures, projects, and research that sustainably enhance road safety in Tyrol. As a grant program, it is aimed at natural and legal persons, companies, non-profit organizations, as well as public institutions. The funding focus is on initiatives directly related to road safety in the federal state of Tyrol; nationwide projects may also be considered upon review. Applications can be submitted at any time, with decisions made by an expert advisory board in spring and autumn. The fund is financed by the safety euro paid upon allocation or reservation of a personalized license plate, thus representing an established instrument for strengthening regional road safety.

Particular support is given to infrastructure and urban development projects, traffic education programs, studies and research projects, as well as preparatory planning measures and the development of orientation aids. Funding requirements include a detailed project description, a comprehensible cost calculation including quantification of in-kind contributions, precise timeframes for implementation, as well as the designation of contact persons and a project manager. Eligible expenses cover personnel costs, study and research expenses, costs for traffic education, and planning costs. The objective is to initiate effective and practice-oriented solutions that address infrastructural aspects as well as traffic education and scientific issues, thereby contributing to a measurable reduction in accidents and risk potentials.
