Description

Tyrolean Science Promotion provides unlimited, non-repayable grants of up to 100% to strengthen research and innovation capacity in Tyrol (including Vienna). Legal entities, registered partnerships, sole proprietorships, as well as natural persons aged 18 and over with primary residence in Tyrol are eligible to apply. The funding is granted as a lump-sum subsidy without repayment obligation. Priority areas include Research & Innovation as well as Science, with interdisciplinary approaches explicitly encouraged. Financing is ongoing until 31.12.2027; the funding guideline is valid until 30.06.2028. With a clear focus on the strategic development of the research location Tyrol, collaborations are intensified, research infrastructures expanded, and international scientists recruited and retained long-term.

Scientific projects and events are funded whose costs – including personnel costs with overhead (max. 20%), travel expenses, proportional depreciation for investments, material and supply costs, external services, as well as fee costs – serve the goals of the economy and society in the region. Non-eligible expenses include costs without direct project relation, costs outside the contract period, discounts, financing costs, real estate acquisition, reserves, representation and hospitality expenses, as well as publication and printing costs. Selection is based on research and development intensity, promotion of young talent, technology transfer content, transparency of project and cost planning, regional interest, sustainability, and interdisciplinary networking. The technical evaluation is conducted by internal and external experts; decision-makers of the Tyrolean state government bear the final funding decision. The application must include a detailed project description, a detailed cost breakdown, a financing plan, and, if applicable, cooperation agreements and official permits. Applications can be submitted electronically via the web form of the Department of Economic Location, Digitalization and Science no later than 31.12.2027. Upon completion of the project, detailed proof of use and final reports must be submitted.
