Description
The funding initiative "Touristic Measures of Supra-Regional Importance" has been providing unlimited grants since May 8, 2013, in the state of Salzburg for a variety of projects in the areas of regional development as well as agriculture & rural development. Public institution sponsors, interest groups, associations engaged in tourism promotion, and commercial enterprises may submit applications, provided they demonstrate the availability of corresponding own funds. The program targets municipalities, tourism associations, and private providers aiming to increase supra-regional visitor numbers and sustainably secure the tourism infrastructure.
Funding is provided particularly for development, expansion, and safeguarding projects to open new tourism areas, improve the quality of existing offerings, as well as for statewide events with broad impact. The program also supports the linking of cross-country ski trails, cycling and hiking paths, and comprehensive tourism marketing measures for the long-term profiling of Salzburg as a travel destination. Prior to project commencement, a detailed project description, a cost and financing plan, and the annual financial statement or income-expenditure account must be submitted. Due to the ongoing funding opportunity, interested parties may submit applications at any time and thus contribute early to the realization of flagship projects.
