Transformation Fund for Bavarian Companies in Transition

The Transformation Fund for Bavarian Companies in Transition supports small and medium-sized enterprises throughout Bavaria in strategic realignments to secure their long-term competitiveness. Funding is provided for location-relevant projects in the areas of research & innovation, digitalization, decarbonization, and circular economy. The focus is on investments in the development of future-oriented technologies, the optimization of production processes, and the establishment of alternative business fields. The program is based on the provisions of the EU state aid regulations and finances projects with funding rates between 15% and 50%, with a maximum funding amount of up to €12.5 million per project. Applications can be submitted at any time until December 31, 2028.

Companies headquartered in Bavaria, taking into account state aid regulations, may submit investment costs, research expenses, technology development costs, as well as process optimization costs. Selection is based on the criteria of degree of innovation, contribution to regional competitiveness, and sustainability of the transformation project. For the application, a completed application form, a project description, a detailed financing plan, and a De-minimis declaration are required. The program is granted as a non-repayable subsidy and complements existing funding offers to provide tailored support to companies in profound phases of transition.
