Description
The "Comprehensive Building Renovation" program supports companies, associations, religious institutions, and non-profit organizations throughout Austria in the thermal renovation and greening of predominantly commercially used buildings. The goal is a noticeable reduction in energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions through optimized thermal insulation of exterior walls, roofs, and ceiling floors, as well as through the replacement of windows and exterior doors. A prerequisite for funding is commercial use of more than 50% of the heated gross floor area, a building age of at least 15 years at the time of application, and timely submission before commissioning the first construction or supply services. Applications can be submitted until December 31, 2050. As a grant, the program particularly supports small and medium-sized enterprises that wish to make a long-term contribution to energy efficiency and climate protection.
In addition to insulation measures, the program also funds external shading systems, facade and roof greening, planning costs (e.g., energy performance certificates), construction supervision, and site overhead costs. For already renovated properties in town centers, greening measures as individual actions are also possible. For the application, among other documents, energy performance certificates before and after renovation, cost estimates of the renovation services, a technical data sheet for greening, as well as, if applicable, a confirmation of the town center status and a bank report for investments over €500,000 must be submitted. The entire process from application through evaluation to disbursement is managed by Kommunalkredit Public Consulting (KPC). Interested parties can submit online applications via the portal Meine Förderung, where all funding criteria are also explained in detail.
