Description
The retraining allowance supports the livelihood of individuals undergoing vocational rehabilitation throughout Austria. It is granted as an indefinite subsidy and is initially based on the amount of the individual unemployment benefit during the planning phase, later including a flat-rate surcharge of 22%. Additionally, any applicable family allowances may be claimed. The aim of this funding is to sustainably increase the employment participation of affected individuals by ensuring financial basic security during the selection, planning, and implementation of rehabilitative measures.
Eligible are private individuals with a decision from the Pension Insurance Institution confirming the legal entitlement to vocational rehabilitation under the ASVG, as well as the determination of the appropriateness and reasonableness of the measure. Furthermore, active participation in the selection, planning, and implementation of the rehabilitation is required. Applications can be submitted at any time and without limitation online via the MeinAMS portal or at a regional AMS office. The written PVA decision and the official application form are required for submission. Through this continuous funding opportunity, the program makes a significant contribution to equal participation in working life and strengthens the long-term professional prospects of rehabilitated persons.
