Description

The funding program "Environmental Promotion – Renewable Energy Sources – KPC" of the State of Burgenland supports the new construction, expansion, and extension of heat and cold distribution networks based on climate-friendly or highly efficient district heating and district cooling supply. Investment costs for planning services, excavation work, pipeline construction, heat and cold transfer stations, buffer storage, MSR technology, network hydraulic adaptations, quality management, as well as intangible expenses – each up to 10% of the material investment costs – are eligible for funding. The funding is provided as a direct, non-repayable grant amounting to up to 45% of the eligible costs. Prerequisites include a positive assessment by KPC, a resolution by the state government on the provision of funds, and minimum investments of €30,000 for heat networks and €100,000 for cold networks. The program is valid from 01.01.2013 and remains in effect until the allocated budget is exhausted.

Eligible applicants are companies, interest groups, associations, as well as denominational institutions with headquarters or project locations in Burgenland, which supply at least ten external customers in an area without an existing district heating or district cooling network. The grant supports not only the construction and commissioning of new networks but also the expansion of existing network infrastructures to supply third parties. Thus, the program makes an important contribution to increasing energy efficiency and climate protection through the increased use of renewable energy sources. Applications can be submitted continuously as long as funds are available.
