Description

The Undine Award – Prize on the Theme of Water is announced annually nationwide by the Josef Wund Foundation and is dedicated to the entire diversity of this essential element under the motto “Water for People.” In the three categories Source of Life, Habitat, and Joy of Life, institutions, projects, and companies are honored that implement innovative solutions in environmental and nature conservation, research & innovation, as well as cultural and social aspects related to water. The total prize money amounts to 60,000 euros and is aimed at national and international water experts. An independent jury continuously evaluates submitted proposals to highlight outstanding contributions and promote them sustainably.

The aim of the award is to advance the responsible use of water and its equitable access worldwide. Projects are recognized that impress through high innovation, sustainable impact, and strong social relevance, as well as establishing a connection to the individual. Supported initiatives include, for example, projects to improve drinking water supply, novel methods of water purification, climate-friendly water management approaches, or artistic initiatives that raise awareness of the importance of water. The continuous call for applications makes it possible to identify new impulses each year and further strengthen the dialogue between experts and the public for the preservation of this vital resource.
