Description
In Carinthia, private individuals have access to crisis foster care places for children up to ten years old whose family environment is significantly burdened by psychological or social exceptional circumstances. Within a period of up to twelve weeks, the funding provides need-based foster care arrangements to ensure the child's welfare and achieve rapid stabilization. The focus is on guaranteeing upbringing and support in a stable environment, while reliable care planning and professional supervision processes operate in parallel. Ongoing applications are possible at any time, allowing flexible responses to acute emergencies.
Foster parents receive daily financial support payments for each child cared for, in accordance with the standard rates, as well as special payments for additional care measures. A prerequisite for the grant is an official approval as a crisis foster care placement pursuant to § 30 paragraphs 2 and 3 K-KJHG, as well as proof of endangerment to the child's welfare. The funding period extends over three months and allows for needs-oriented care, which, in cooperation with clinical psychologists and specialist physicians, ensures comprehensive support. All documents are submitted through Department 4 of the Carinthian State Government, which simultaneously serves as the central contact point. Thus, the program makes a decisive contribution to the protection and development of children in acute crisis situations.
