Funding objective
The purpose of the funding is the initiation and implementation of cooperative research and development projects or organizational initiatives involving at least three cooperation partners, whose realization sustainably has a positive impact on the competitiveness of the Upper Austrian economy.

Description
The business and research cooperation funding supports companies based in Upper Austria and Salzburg in initiating and implementing joint research, development, and organizational projects. A prerequisite for submission is the involvement of at least three cooperation partners or alternatively two partners plus one R&D institution, with at least one SME according to the EU definition always being involved. Eligible for funding are companies with their registered office or primary physical location in Upper Austria, which are members of a cluster and network initiative of the State of Upper Austria as well as the Upper Austria Chamber of Commerce or the Chamber of Architects and Consulting Engineers for Upper Austria and Salzburg. The funding measure provides non-repayable grants for personnel costs, external service providers, as well as material and equipment costs and is valid for projects whose application is submitted between 01.01.2024 and 31.12.2026 before the project start.
The funding supports technology-oriented projects of medium innovation level that create sustainable competitive advantages for the Upper Austrian economy through interdisciplinary collaboration. Particular evaluation criteria include the suitability of the project participants, the quality of the project, as well as the benefit and efficiency potential. To apply, a funding application, a detailed project description, cost breakdowns, and the business license must be submitted. The funding initiative makes an important contribution to the implementation of the economic and research strategy “#upperVISION2030” by strengthening innovation networks and sustainably promoting the international competitiveness of regional companies through forward-looking cooperations.
