Support for Model Regions for Climate Protection and Adaptation

The funding supports public institutions in Vorarlberg in preparing applications for Climate and Energy Model Regions (KEM) as well as Climate Change Adaptation Model Regions (KLAR!). Municipal sponsors, communities, and associations of multiple communities that develop concepts for climate change adaptation or wish to renew their participation in existing model programs are eligible for funding. With a focus on climate protection, environmental and nature conservation, as well as energy efficiency, the program contributes to making regional initiatives future-proof and implementing concrete adaptation strategies.

Up to 100% of the costs for preparing the application documents are covered – up to a maximum of €10,000 per model region – as well as up to 50% of the expenses for consulting services to develop municipal adaptation concepts, with a ceiling of €3,000 per community or association. Applications can be submitted at any time before project implementation, ensuring temporal flexibility. The combination of different funding rates allows for individual design options and promotes innovative approaches in the fields of climate protection and climate change adaptation.
