Description

The Peter Friedhofen Brothers Foundation provides unbureaucratic and timely support to individuals in acute need as well as social projects of non-profit organizations throughout Germany. In the Christian tradition, it promotes self-help and emphasizes economical use of resources to sustainably assist the sick, elderly, and disadvantaged. Funding is provided not only for immediate individual aid but also for personnel and material costs as well as capital expenditures for durable assets with a lifespan of five years or more. The foundation is financed exclusively through endowments and donations and places special emphasis on the effectiveness and initiative of the applicants. A statement from a recognized welfare association as well as proof of state and municipal social benefits substantiate the prospects of success and cost-effectiveness of each measure.

Applications are accepted at any time and require the completed support application form, a cost and financing plan (if available), current proof of need, and a statement from a welfare association. A personal contribution is expected depending on the applicant’s ability to pay. Applications may be submitted by private individuals, non-profit organizations, or public institutions and undergo evaluation based on criteria such as likelihood of success, promotion of self-help, and sustainable impact. The continuous funding model in the form of grants allows flexible allocation of resources tailored to the most urgent needs. By combining individual aid and project funding, the foundation makes a significant contribution to poverty alleviation, health care, and social inclusion, especially for children, youth, and migrants.
