Description
The German UWC Foundation supports committed students from all over Germany with needs-based partial or full scholarships for a two-year school stay at one of the 18 United World Colleges. The program is aimed at young people aged 13 to 19 who have completed at least the tenth grade at the start of the school year and were born between August 1, 2008, and August 15, 2011. The goal of the funding is to strengthen international understanding, intercultural exchange, and social engagement. The grants cover both tuition fees and living expenses, thus enabling comprehensive participation regardless of the family’s financial situation.
Applications can be submitted year-round via the online portal and are reviewed continuously. Selection is based on academic performance, personal suitability, motivation, and commitment; financial criteria do not play a role. In addition to solid academic results, a successful application requires high personal and mental resilience as well as a willingness to actively contribute to a peaceful and sustainable future. Interested young people from all types of schools submit their documents online and then undergo a selection process, which usually consists of tests, interviews, and references. In this way, the foundation promotes individual potential and enables young people to develop further in a multicultural environment.
