Description

The B. Braun Foundation supports nationwide, professionally oriented continuing education events in human medicine, public health, hospital pharmacy, and medical technology. The goal is the sustainable further qualification of physicians, nursing staff, nursing scientists, hospital managers, administrative employees, hospital pharmacists, as well as students and trainees in health professions. Symposia, colloquia, and seminars with a clear professional focus are supported with a one-time grant of up to €1,500 per event. The funds may be used exclusively for speaker fees, travel and accommodation costs, catering, program printing and mailing, digital advertising, room rentals, and costs for digital formats. Exceptional funding beyond the maximum amount is only possible in justified individual cases.

Eligible to participate are educational institutions, non-profit and public sponsors, as well as companies offering continuing education, advanced training, or vocational training measures in the specified fields. Application phases take place annually in March/April and September/October. Submission must include an event concept, a detailed program plan, and a transparent cost and financing plan. Each application is reviewed by experts for content alignment with the foundation’s purpose, professional benefit for participants, and cost transparency. Upon positive decision, the event date will be included in the foundation’s event calendar. A formal confirmation of fund usage and a final report including participant numbers and financial overview must be submitted within six weeks after the event concludes. Thus, the funding significantly contributes to quality assurance and knowledge exchange in healthcare.
