Improvement of Infrastructure Services in Small and Very Small Ski Areas

Within the framework of the funding program aimed at increasing the attractiveness of micro and small ski areas in Tyrol, targeted investments in cable car and lift systems, including dedicated summer lifts, are supported to sustainably improve the recreational offerings and economic viability of these regions. Applicants must be classified as micro, small, or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and possess the necessary legal permits for infrastructural measures. Public institutions, interest groups, associations, cooperatives, as well as companies, are eligible for funding provided they meet the requirements. The funding rate ranges between 10% and 50% of eligible costs depending on the size of the operation, with a maximum of up to €2.5 million per year. The measures must be carried out in line with municipal and regional development objectives and ensure a transport capacity after reconstruction of no more than 5,000 persons per hour (micro ski area) or 10,000 persons per hour (small ski area).

Applications can be submitted from March 1, 2024, until December 31, 2027. The current funding guidelines, application form, and accounting documents are required for submission. This funding not only strengthens infrastructure but also secures additional jobs and sharpens the touristic profile of the Tyrolean mountain region. Interested organizations and businesses can obtain detailed information on participation conditions and deadlines from the competent Department of Economic Promotion and Funding Transparency of the State of Tyrol. An early project start increases planning security and contributes to the efficient implementation of the desired improvement measures.
