Description

Compensation for Loss of Earnings under the Epidemic Act is aimed at private individuals, companies, and partnerships based in Vienna who have suffered a loss of earnings due to officially ordered measures pursuant to § 32 of the Epidemic Act. Eligible are income losses resulting from quarantine, work prohibitions, business closures, evacuation orders, or traffic restrictions. The funding covers 100% of the lost earnings and is paid out as a one-time grant. It serves to compensate for income losses in the areas of social affairs, health, as well as labor & social affairs, and aims to secure the economic existence of affected natural and legal persons. The entitlement arises with the official order; applications must be submitted to the competent district administrative authority within six weeks after the lifting of the restrictions. The legal basis is § 32 Epidemic Act 1950 as amended. The program has been available indefinitely since January 23, 2014, and offers ongoing funding opportunities without a budget cap.

The following requirements must be met to apply: an official order for quarantine or work prohibition pursuant to § 32 Epidemic Act and timely submission of the application to the district administrative authority. Eligible expenses exclusively include the lost earnings. Due to the one hundred percent funding rate, applicants incur no own funds. This measure significantly contributes to stabilizing the economy during epidemic-related restrictions and supports affected companies and individuals in bridging liquidity shortages. Further program information is provided by the Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection (Section VI).
