Discretionary Fund "Southern Inner City" of the City of Bautzen

The discretionary fund "Southern Inner City" of the city of Bautzen is aimed at all natural and legal persons as well as companies, non-profit organizations, and public institutions that wish to become active in the "Southern Inner City" funding area. The goal is to strengthen civic engagement and support locally effective ideas with financial grants. Funded are completed projects and actions that can be realized within short timeframes and provide an immediate added value for the neighborhood in Saxony. The fund covers a broad spectrum – from contributions to social cohesion and democracy development to measures in urban planning and urban renewal, as well as initiatives in the fields of labor, social affairs, agriculture, and rural development.

Applications can be submitted continuously as long as funds are available. A prerequisite for funding is concrete project activity within the defined area – the boundaries run from the Friedensbrücke (Peace Bridge) over the historic city wall to Lauengraben, Kornmarkt, and Karl-Marx-Straße. Due to the flexible funding amount, especially smaller, self-contained actions can be implemented quickly. Interested project sponsors thus receive financial resources at short notice to realize neighborhood projects, district festivals, planting campaigns, art installations, or social offerings and thereby sustainably enliven community life in the southern inner city.
