Description

Avoidance, material and thermal recovery, other treatment of hazardous waste promotes nationwide investments in measures to reduce, materially utilize, and thermally treat hazardous waste. SMEs, interest groups, associations, as well as denominational and other entrepreneurial organizations active in the fields of environmental/nature conservation, climate protection, and energy efficiency are supported. Funding is provided for the acquisition and installation of plants and plant components for processing, process conversion, or thermal recovery, as well as accompanying transport, planning, and assembly costs. The goal is to reduce environmental burdens through a circular waste management system and the efficient use of existing resources.

The grant is structured as a non-repayable investment subsidy and is administered by Kommunalkredit Public Consulting on behalf of the federal ministries. Applications must be submitted before the first legally binding order, delivery, or start of construction; the deadline is December 31, 2050. Funding requirements include a technical description, an economic feasibility calculation, copies of accompanying certificates, a material flow analysis, as well as binding offers and cost estimates; for an investment volume of €500,000 or more, a report from the lending institution is additionally required. After project completion, the final accounting must be submitted within six months. This sustainably strengthens environmentally relevant investments and advances the circular economy in Austria.
