Description
The contractual funding of the Carinthian Folk Song Association supports the non-profit administration and preservation of the collection „Carinthian Folk Song Archive“, owned by the state of Carinthia. Interested parties are primarily the Carinthian Folk Song Association as operators and administrators of the collection. The annual direct funding in the form of a grant in the field of Culture & Media amounts to up to €100,000 (as of 27.05.2026) and is awarded continuously. The goal is the sustainable maintenance and scientific processing of popular song and cultural assets in order to secure and make accessible Carinthia’s cultural heritage in the long term.
A prerequisite for approval is the timely submission of a complete funding application form as well as the presentation of an annual report by January 31 of each year. Proof of use is provided by balanced original receipts corresponding to the subsidy amount. The application and processing are the responsibility of Department 14 – Arts and Culture in the Office of the Carinthian State Government, which provides the legal framework based on the Carinthian Cultural Funding Act (K-KFördG 2001). The funding is specifically aimed at organizations dedicated to the scientific documentation and dissemination of the Carinthian folk song tradition and whose ongoing activities for the preservation of this cultural heritage are to be secured.
