Description

The contract funding program of the Robert Musil Institute for Literary Research and the Carinthian Literary Archive offers interested public institutions, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions in Carinthia the opportunity to systematically collect, archive, and index estate materials. Grants are awarded in continuously open submission windows for personnel and material costs, travel expenses, as well as all other project-related expenditures. In addition to conservation and digital archiving, the implementation of literary and scientific events forms a focal point: readings, conferences, workshops, and exhibitions enable participatory exchange between researchers, cultural practitioners, and the literature-interested public. Applicants must comply with the provisions of the Carinthian Cultural Funding Act (§§ 3–5), submit a fully completed funding application form, and provide a written funding request. Professional qualification, sustainable archiving, and the benefit for research and science are essential evaluation criteria.

The administration is carried out by Department 14 – Arts and Culture of the Carinthian State Government. Submissions are possible at any time; however, a budget guarantee exists only until the allocated funds are exhausted. Original receipts must be balanced in the proof of use and submitted in an amount at least equal to the subsidy; for funding amounts of at least €35,000, a detailed income and expenditure statement including reporting is required. The "Carinthia Culture" logo must be used obligatorily in the context of publication and event announcements. The annual submission of a work report by the institute’s management to the advisory board ensures quality control and transparency. Further information on funding conditions and forms is available upon request from Department 14.
