Funding objective
Funding is provided for electrically operated heat pumps with a nominal heat output of 100 kW or more, using ambient heat as a heat source, which serve the provision of heating, hot water, process heat, or the supply of heat networks. The goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase energy efficiency in companies and other entrepreneurial organizations.

Description
The funding program is aimed at companies, interest groups, associations, denominational as well as non-profit organizations throughout Austria and supports the use of electrically operated heat pumps with a nominal heat output of at least 100 kW. The goal is the significant reduction of greenhouse gas emissions as well as the increase of energy efficiency in commercial and entrepreneurial enterprises. Funded are systems that enable heating, hot water, process heat, or feed-in to heating networks. As a grant-based funding, resources are available for the acquisition of the heat pump, the heat source system (e.g., ground collector, groundwater well, deep drilling), buffer storage, primary-side hydraulic installation, system control, electrical installations, as well as for planning and installation. Applications can be submitted during the funding period from 01.03.2024 until 31.12.2050.
Funded companies and organizations must submit the application before any first legally binding order, delivery, or construction measure and must meet environmentally friendly conditions during system implementation. Essential requirements include the use of a refrigerant with a GWP below 2,000, a proven seasonal performance factor of at least 3.8, and the procurement of green electricity in cases where required. For investment volumes exceeding €500,000, a report from the credit institution must be submitted. For the application, among other documents, a fully completed data sheet “Heat Pump ≥ 100 kW,” the calculation of the seasonal performance factor, the product data sheet, as well as confirmation of green electricity procurement must be provided. Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH manages the administrative and technical processing of the procedure and ensures that each project complies with the legal and technical funding criteria.
