Description

Within the framework of the funding initiative Heat Recovery ≥ 100 kW, the efficient use of previously untapped energy potentials is being promoted throughout Austria. Funding is provided for the recovery of thermal energy from refrigeration and ventilation systems with a heat exchanger capacity of 100 kW or an air recirculation volume flow of 50,000 m³/h, the utilization of low-temperature waste heat using heat pumps, as well as heating optimizations in existing buildings with proven savings of at least 10%. Additionally, fossil process heat generators can be modernized and technological efficiency improvements in industrial plants can be implemented, provided that a significant ecological added value compared to the existing system is documented.

Eligible for funding are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), interest groups, non-profit associations, and religious institutions in Austria. Fundable are investment costs for systems and components as well as planning and installation expenses. The application must be submitted before the first legally binding investment commitment. Required for submission are: a technical description of the measure, the completed energy-saving measure data sheet, offers and cost estimates, a comparison of energy consumption before and after implementation, and for an investment volume of €150,000 or more, a counterfactual scenario, and for €500,000 or more, a report from the credit institution. Application deadline: March 1, 2024 to December 31, 2050. This grant not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions but also strengthens the competitiveness of companies through sustainable energy efficiency measures.
