The "Christmas Aid (Food Assistance)" of the Stiftung Deutsche Hilfsgemeinschaft e.V. is aimed at needy seniors, lonely individuals, and impoverished families in the Hanseatic City of Hamburg. Each year, around 2,000 food vouchers and packages, each valued at approximately €40, are assembled and lovingly packaged to bring a smile to the faces of the recipients during the festive season. Additionally, Christmas celebrations for the homeless, mentally ill, and care-dependent individuals from other institutions are financially and materially supported, enabling community events to take place. Volunteer helpers take on the organization and distribution of the vouchers, creating a strong network of voluntary commitment and social care.
Funding opportunities are continuously available and open to both non-profit organizations and private individuals who wish to support the initiative through monetary or in-kind donations. A prerequisite for the allocation of vouchers and packages is residence in Hamburg as well as belonging to one of the specified target groups.
