Description
The Werner Pfetzing Foundation Himmelsfels invites educational institutions nationwide to register school classes from grades 3 to 6 for intercultural “world journeys” to the Himmelsfels. Through playful outdoor games, creative hobby groups, and lively storytimes, students explore foreign countries, cultures, and languages. At the “customs,” participants receive their own passport and immerse themselves in a world where every hour counts 61 minutes and ambassadors from around the globe offer exciting insights. The funding objective is to raise young people’s awareness of global diversity and strengthen social cohesion. Accompanying teachers become part of an experienced team of educators, artists, and volunteers who oversee the program schedule and allow space for their own thematic focuses. Full board, cozy country caravans, and lived ecumenism complete the offering.
Inquiries are accepted continuously, with the first project start scheduled from March 16, 2026. Fixed arrival and departure dates are organized into three-day units (from €81 per person) with the option for four- or five-day stays, as well as an optional lunch on the departure day for €7. Registration requires a complete class with a minimum number of participants according to the specified date proposals. Applications require group information (name, total and gender count, supervising teachers), contact details of the group leader, and the desired travel period. Educational camps that promote intercultural exchange and strengthen democratic engagement are funded under the themes of education, children and youth, training and further education, as well as social cohesion.
