Description
The funding supports visual artists and artistic photographers in Vienna through the purchase of their original works, thereby specifically contributing to the strengthening of creative production. Applications can be submitted at any time, without limitation, and in the form of a grant to the Federal Chancellery. The aim is to highlight outstanding achievements in the field of visual arts and artistic photography by promoting the acquisition of works, which simultaneously facilitates access for collectors, museums, and public institutions to innovative positions. Private applicants with permanent residence in Austria or Austrian citizenship benefit from this funding, as do photographic artists whose works become part of the federal cultural heritage.
Prerequisites for a grant, in addition to Austrian citizenship or permanent residence in Austria, include the submission of a properly completed application in accordance with § 4 of the Art Promotion Act 1988 and proof that the project would not be feasible or only partially feasible without these funds. Applicants must provide a personal contribution corresponding to their financial capacity. Required for submission are: the completed form for scholarships, acquisitions, and studios, a detailed project description according to § 4 of the Art Promotion Act, and proof of existing or planned own funds. The Art and Culture Section of the Federal Ministry for Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport coordinates the funding control and accompanies all phases of the funding process.
