Description
The Vienna Training Allowance offers unemployed Viennese residents a monthly support of approximately €1,500–€1,600 during a minimum twelve-month training period in future-relevant fields. The focus is on training in municipal public services (health, care, social services, education), climate protection-related professions, as well as information and communication technology (ICT) and digitalization. The scholarship contributes to the long-term securing of livelihood and supplements AMS benefits subsidiarily. Funding can be applied for continuously to flexibly accommodate individual training periods.
Eligible persons must be registered with the Public Employment Service and possess a hiring commitment from a Viennese company. Prior to submission, waff reviews the funding application, which, in addition to the WAG application, includes an AMS benefit notification, data protection information, an official photo ID, and the written commitment of the training company. Approval is granted based on the implementation provisions of the waff board and the Unemployment Insurance Act. Since no pre-financing is required, the training allowance is paid monthly in arrears. This funding model sustainably supports the demand for skilled workers in key public, climate-related, and digital professions, thereby enabling a needs-oriented career entry with a secured financial basis.
