Science, Project, and Annual Funding

The funding initiative for science, project, and annual grants in Carinthia supports both natural and legal persons from the fields of culture, social sciences, and natural sciences. Institutions, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, start-ups, and interest groups benefit from subsidies for the publication of scientific works with specialized publishers, for organizing and participating in (international) conferences, symposia, and meetings, as well as for the implementation of research and digitization projects. With the aim of promoting knowledge exchange domestically and internationally and sustainably strengthening scientific activities, the program continuously offers application opportunities without fixed deadlines.

Eligible expenses include, among others, printing cost subsidies for publications, expenses for event organization, participation fees, digital indexing measures, and institutional research work. Applications are submitted based on the funding application form and must be supplemented by the information for accounting, a proof of use with original receipts, and a written usage report. For funding amounts of 30,000 euros or more, a detailed statement of income and expenses is required. The “Special Provisions for Funding” according to § 5 K-KFördG must also be observed. This measure makes an important contribution to strengthening cultural diversity, scientific networking, and digital innovation capacity in Carinthia and invites researchers, cultural practitioners, and institutions to realize forward-looking projects and effectively disseminate knowledge.
