Description
Project and annual funding for science in Carinthia offer private individuals, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, companies, and public institutions flexible grants for publication projects, conferences, meetings, research, and digitization projects. Funding is provided for printing cost subsidies with specialized publishers, contributions to the organization and participation in (inter)national symposia, as well as investments in personnel and material costs. The measure covers cultural, social, and natural sciences and additionally supports the continuous scientific activity of institutions in Carinthia. Applications can be submitted without limitation from January 1, 2026, and are continuously reviewed to realize research projects promptly. Financing is based on innovative and scientifically valuable added value, the plausibility of the financial plan, and a demonstrable Carinthian connection.
A prerequisite for a successful application is a complete, digitally signed form submitted before the start of the project. The applicant must demonstrate the thematic or personal Carinthian connection in accordance with §§ 3–5 K-KFördG 2001 and coordinate funding with other agencies. Eligible expenses include publication, event, and travel costs as well as personnel and material expenses; costs incurred before the application submission will not be considered. Decisive for funding are the degree of innovation, the scientific contribution, regional anchoring, and financial planning. As proof, professional documents must be provided alongside the completed application form, and upon approval, the use of the state logo “Land Carinthia Art and Culture” must be visibly displayed. This grant secures Carinthian researchers and institutions in the long term and promotes knowledge exchange in the Alpine-Adriatic region.
