Description
The Raiffeisen Foundation supports the preparation of scientific expert reports and statements on current issues in rural cooperative systems through this funding program. Funded are expert analyses on policy proposals, impact assessments, legal commentaries, and market strategies that directly address the needs of companies and institutions within the cooperative network. Eligible to apply are managing directors of cooperative enterprises as well as researchers at universities of applied sciences, universities, and other research institutions. The funding covers personnel and material costs, travel expenses, as well as expenditures for methodology and analysis, contributing to the strengthening of sustainable development goals and innovative solutions in rural areas.
Informal funding applications may be submitted at any time in German, either in writing or electronically. Required documents include information about the applicant, a concise description of the project with a timeline and budget plan, a methodological outline, and proof of any partial financing. Furthermore, it must be demonstrated how the project adds value to the cooperative system and what contribution it makes to the Sustainable Development Goals. Evaluation criteria focus on the topicality of the issue, scientific quality, relevance to sustainability, and practical applicability. After successful preliminary review by the board, the project is announced, after which two expert reviewers from academia and practice provide a recommendation to the advisory board. This program thus enables a well-founded decision-making basis for politics, business, and cooperatives in rural areas.
