Science and Research Awards – Alexa Melcher and Thomas Schiffer – Foundation

The Alexa Melcher and Thomas Schiffer Foundation annually awards outstanding early-career researchers with three research prizes of €2,000 each. Recognized are dissertations and research results that provide strong impulses for sustainable and innovative development in Germany in the categories of Ecological Future Technologies for Nature & Environment, Economic Future Technologies for Industry & Business, and Future Technologies for Humans in the Fields of Health & Well-being. Free participation is open to all early-career researchers eligible for habilitation who have submitted their work by the deadline and demonstrably contribute forward-looking insights.

The application deadline is annually on July 31, with the announcement of the awardees by no later than October 31. An independent panel of experts evaluates the submissions based on the criterion “Strong impulses for future-oriented topics and technologies.” With this award, the Foundation not only promotes scientific excellence but also offers the honorees a valuable platform for networking and visibility of their research.
